Finishing touches
Tightening
Thread a tapestry needle with a strong thread to make tightening.
Insert the needle with thread into the magic ring and bring it out at the top part between the last round of the light part of the pumpkin and the stem. Pull the thread, holding it with your finger to prevent the tightening from loosening.
Return to the magic ring. From there, again, bring the needle up on the opposite side, pull the thread tightly, hold the tightening with your finger each time, and return to the magic ring. You should have six tightenings. Secure the thread and weave in loose ends.
Adding color
With a brush and brown pastel, tint the surface around the tail. Apply the pastel around the contour, then blend it with a soft toothbrush.
Similarly, tint the lower part of the pumpkin. Apply pastel to the center, then blend.
Tint the tightenings with a brush and brown pastel. Apply the pastel along the thread, pulling the detail, and then blend it with a soft toothbrush.
